  6. Modify the teaching plan to facilitate personal, ethnical and cultural preferences and age specific characteristics and needs.

  7. Identify and modify the teaching plan according to any cognitive, language, reading level, sensory, emotional and physical barriers to education.

  8. Accurately assess the educational needs of patients and family members, using aggregated data among other sources of information.

  9. Generate learning objectives that are specific, measurable, and consistent with the educational need, the domain, and the level of the domain, individual or group preferences, and the goal of the learning activity.

  10. Implement an established teaching plan and modify it, as indicated, throughout the course of the instruction.

  11. Evaluate the outcomes of education for individuals and groups, using a variety of data sources.

  12. Collaboratively design patient, family and community educational activities that facilitate effective outcomes and positive customer satisfaction ratings.

  13. Employ the patient and family education competencies listed in the course to evaluate the initial and ongoing competency of those providing any aspect of patient/family teaching.
